Introduction
EM-I Training (formerly known as FAME)
Do you know the best ways to support your exporters? During this training you will develop a Sector Export Marketing Plan which enables you to support your exporters the best way you can! This training will provide you with new insights in European Market Characteristics, Market Information, European Buying strategies, Export Networks, Export Opportunities which will all contribute to sustainable European export success.
Result
• A written Sector Export Marketing Plan; which contains concrete actions to be taken to better support the (potential) exporters to Europe within an important sector in your own country.
• Match the exporters’ needs and products with the requirements of the EU markets.
• Knowledge of the trade structures in the EU.
• Knowledge of different marketing and trade promotion techniques.
• Being able to carry out a market research on the European market and knowing how to use the CBI database.
• Share knowledge and experiences with BSO colleagues from all over the world.
Training
• SWOT-analysis
Understanding and describing the strengths and weaknesses of one important sector within your own country. Mapping the opportunities and threats this sector faces.
• Confrontation matrix
Bringing the 4 elements of the SWOT-analysis together within a confrontation matrix, in order to determine the gaps the sector faces in their exports and to formulate actions to bridge these gaps.
• Sector Export Marketing Plan (SEMP)Much time is allocated to writing the SEMP for the chosen sector. Furthermore, at the end of the week the plans have to be presented to the trainers as well as their peers.
• Cases, assignments and lectures
Throughout the week, the participants will attend several sessions to get acquainted with the basics of (export) marketing.
Who can apply ?
· Middle management staff of a private or public BSO located in one of the CBI-target countries.
· Activity involved in advising exporters and trade promotion activities.
· Participants should have an excellent command of the English language
Cost of participation
· Participation fee of €250,- (which will be deducted from ticket contribution)
· Flight ticket to The Netherlands
· Personal expenses
· CBI will cover the costs of the hotel and provides a fixed contribution to your flight ticket
